440C has a density of 7.85g, a specific heat capacity of 4600J, a resistivity of 0.6um, a thermal expansion coefficient of 10.5, and a thermal conductivity of 29.3.
440C is a kind of martensitic stainless steel with very high carbon and chromium content. This steel has the properties of rust and corrosion resistance and also has high strength and high hardness. 440C stainless steel has a hardness of 265HBS and a heat treatment hardness of 58-62HRC. The diameter of the 440C stainless steel rod is 1.0mm-350mm, and the thickness of the stainless steel plate is 2.3-280mm.
Heat treatment (quenching, tempering, and annealing process):
The heat treatment process of martensitic 440C stainless steel is vacuum heat treatment. If you want to improve the performance of 440C material, you need to perform the cryogenic treatment. For example, the heating temperature and holding time parameters are as follows:
1. The heating temperature is 1050°C, the end temperature is 850°C, and the furnace is cooled.
2. The annealing temperature is 820℃, cooled to 500℃, air-cooled after discharge, metallographic is pearlite, hardness is 255HBS.
3. Quenching temperature is 1030, oil cooling, hardness 56-62HRC, metallographic is martensite carbide.
4. Tempering temperature 250℃, air cooling, metallographic martensitic carbide.
5. Cryogenic temperature -176℃, air cooling.
440C stainless steel is suitable for making plastic molds and rubber molds that require high corrosion resistance and high wear resistance; making plastic molds for semiconductor IC sealing and mold accessories that require corrosion and rust resistance; making scissors, scalpels, mechanical cutting tools, stainless steel blades, etc. Cutting tools; turbine blades, nozzles, valves, board rulers, and high corrosion resistance bearing parts, high wear resistance equipment parts; food industry, offshore platforms, and other high corrosion resistance mold equipment.
